Welcome to Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc
Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc is a progressive community committed to attaining self-sufficiency and independence through education and economic development. We, the Business & Economic Development department, and our arms length corporation (Kamloops Indian Band Development Corporation) seek to build a sustainable financial legacy for members through economic diversity.
We are interested in opportunities related to land development, leasing , joint ventures and partnerships, new businesses and business acquisitions. Equally a priority is to strengthen our economy through tourism, filming opportunities and growing and supporting member owned businesses.
Featured Projects
Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc has for some time envisioned owning a Grocery Store that would offer better access to groceries for members. The development of a Grocery Store on-reserve is a goal of the Comprehensive Community Plan and direction received by the membership.
The Stswékstem Engineered Waste Management Facility is located on the traditional territory of the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc Nation, across the Thompson River in northeastern Kamloops.
This newly designed facility started construction in November 2021 and is expected to begin operations in the spring of 2023.
